Alexander Kreines is senior principal engineer responsible for the research in the area of security applications of data science at HARMAN, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. HARMAN designs and engineers connected products and solutions for automakers, consumers, and enterprises worldwide, including connected car systems, cybersecurity solutions, audio and visual products, enterprise automation solutions and services supporting the Internet of Things.
Alexander is a technically savvy software development leader with strong background in security, system architecture, and embedded HW/SW based systems. His current interests lie in the sphere of the new type of threats for self-driving cars, the adversarial-image-based attacks on the car perception system and others.
Before joining HARMAN, Alexander worked for almost 20 years at Cisco Systems in various leadership positions, including Devices and Systems Security Team Leader and Program Manager for Smart Card Development. He defined, architected, and led the development of different security-related products for the pay-TV market.
Alexander holds a Ph.D in Solid State Physics from the Institute of Crystallography, Russian Academy of Science, Moscow. He received his M.Sc. degree in Physics of Metals from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys, Department of Physical Chemistry.
