Julie Martin has spent 30 years in the automotive industry, working in leadership positions in both sales and purchasing at Ford Motor Company, Visteon and HELLA.
Julie spent the first 19 years of her career in various purchasing and logistics positions at Ford Motor Company and Visteon Corporation, responsible for developing the supply base and purchasing strategies for various commodities supporting electronics, powertrain, climate control and interiors. While at Visteon, Julie was a board member for Women in Visteon, an internal group focused on career development and advancement of women in the company.
In 2009, Julie joined HELLA as the Head of Purchasing for electronics, leading production and non- production purchasing as well as supplier quality for HELLA’s electronics plants in North America. Julie was named a corporate vice president of Sales at HELLA in 2014, with global responsibility for lighting and electronics products.
In 2015, Julie was named by Automotive News as one of the top 100 Leading Women in the North American Auto Industry.
In August 2019, Julie retired from her role as Vice President of Sales at HELLA to start her own consulting business, Fit for Leadership, LLC which focuses on her passion for both leadership coaching and new business development. She remains an active member of the Executive Advisory Council of AWAF (Automotive Women’s Alliance Foundation).
Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in Materials and Logistics Management from Michigan State University.
Julie is an avid runner, completing the Detroit Free Press Half Marathon seven times. She has been married to her husband Dave for 30 years, and has two adult children, Alec (28) and Lauren (26).
