Ryan Bowers is Counsel, Global Cybersecurity and Privacy at General Motors, where he provides support to GM, OnStar, Maven and Cruise Automation regarding the design, development and sourcing of hardware and software components for connected and autonomous vehicles. He supports autonomous technology, in-vehicle apps, mobile apps, telematics, infotainment, websites, IT contracts, M&A and JV transactions, data licensing, e-commerce, AI, litigation, vulnerability remediation and incident response, and public policy.
Ryan is also a full stack developer, with experience in app development, database architecture, and APIs. Ryan has been with General Motors for three years and prior to GM, spent over a decade in privacy practice representing global software companies and small startups on technology, privacy, IP, venture capital, M&A, litigation, antitrust, employment and internal investigations. Ryan graduated with a B.A. from the University of Michigan and a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law. CIPP/US certified.
