Scott Burnell joins us at TU-Automotive Detroit 2020 as a panellist on Panel Discussion: How are Radio Broadcasters Embracing New Connected Technologies to Remain Relevant.
Scott Burnell created and launched the world’s first automotive developer ecosystem, the Ford Developer Program in 2013. To date he has welcomed over 30,000 developers in to the global FordDev community to innovate alongside the AppLink team. Scott has expanded the mobile content world through his leadership in the creation of SmartDeviceLink (SDL), the open source solution adopted by Toyota and others, making it possible for any OEM to retain branding and simplify integration of apps and content in the vehicle.
Prior to joining Ford, Scott enjoyed a successful career shaping the wireless industry. Starting with bag phones and beepers, he spent more than a decade developing corporate and indirect retail channels for major US wireless operators. Moving in to mobile content, Scott led the development and launch of more than 500 mobile apps and defined the mobile efforts for top brands such as E! Entertainment, Maxim, and Turner Networks. Ford Dev continues the long line of successful mobile ecosystem administration for Scott, including those at AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, and others.
