Miltiadis Filippou Standards and Research Engineer at Intel


Dr. Miltiadis C. Filippou was born in Athens, Greece in 1984. He received his Dipl. Eng. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece (NTUA), in 2007 and his Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications from Telecom ParisTech, France in 2014. Between 2014 and 2015, he was a Research Fellow at the Institute for Digital Communications (IDCOM), University of Edinburgh, U.K., and since late 2015 he is a Standards and Research Engineer at Intel Deutschland, GmbH in Neubiberg, Germany. Dr. Filippou has authored and co-authored more than 30 technical papers, which appear in top IEEE journals and flagship conference proceedings and he has also co-invented a number of international patents, with several applications under consideration. He has significant EU research project experience gained by contributing to various FP7 (SAPHYRE, ADEL), H2020/ 5G PPP (METIS-II, mmMAGIC, ONE5G) and French national ANR projects (LiCoRNe) and since 2017 he serves as a delegate and WI Rapporteur of ETSI ISG MEC. He is a member of the IEEE and of the Technical Chamber of Greece. His current research interests include: multi-access edge computing (MEC), distributed systems, performance analysis and resource optimization, as well as V2X and industrial automation systems.
