Paul Mundt is the Founder and CEO of Adaptant, a company formed in 2015 to develop privacy-enhancing and data-ethical technologies in response to changes in the regulatory environment, such as the GDPR. Furthermore, he is the Vice-Chair of CEN Workshop 84 on a Self-Sovereign Identifier(s) for Personal Data Ownership and Usage Control, and a Co-Chair of the Big Data Value Association Data Management Sub-group. Prior to Adaptant, he was the CTO of OS & Virtualization and Director of the System Software department at Huawei’s European Research Center, where he was responsible for the future OS and Virtualization strategy and architecture globally, focusing on the areas of heterogeneous systems, the convergence of Cloud and HPC, and future data center architecture.
He has more than 20 years of experience in system software development and technology, and innovation management across a range of industries (Automotive, Semiconductors, Telecommunications, Aerospace & Defense), previously working for Renesas, Nokia, TimeSys, and MontaVista Software in various technical and leadership positions. He holds an MBA with a specialization in Technology Management from the Open University, UK.
